Sustainability and environmental thinking has always been an important component of our organisation’s ideology. We value green leadership to create an eco-friendly environment, which generates ecologically sustainable practices in business and society.
We believe that by educating the young towards sustainability, we will promote environmentally sustainable practices in their life, organisations and communities. Our stores, staff, donors and customers work daily to encourage recycling, reduce the use of non-perishable products and reduce the use of landfills to dispose of trash.
While scientists and philanthropists are trying to find effective solutions to environmental challenges, there is much to be done on a personal level. One way is through the re-use and recycling of unused items and clothing.

Selling second-hand products helps limit the consumption of new clothing and therefore reduces the use of cotton, wool, fur, leather, polyester, nylon and other non-perishable synthetic materials used in apparel production. Furthermore, the re-use or recycling of clothing and second-hand products helps to create a green cultured army of individuals that cares for the environment.
HaMetzion stores receives over 100 tons of clothing and textiles in good condition every year!
